Oticon’s Latest Hearing Aid: The Oticon Zeal

Harley Street Hearing is excited to introduce the latest release from Oticon; a hearing aid that combines convenience, connectivity, and discretion in a way that could redefine expectations for in-the-ear devices.

Designed to bridge the gap between traditional receiver-in-canal and custom-made in-the-ear hearing aids, this new model promises to bring a host of user-friendly features together in one compact, wearable device.

The Oticon Zeal: The hearing aid we’ve all been waiting for

The new Oticon Zeal hearing aid has been described as “the hearing aid many have long asked for”. It’s rechargeable, discreet, and ready to wear straight out of the box. Features include Bluetooth connectivity that allows users to stream phone calls and more directly into the device, while still benefiting from personalised hearing correction.

Our audiologists note that while some of these features exist individually in other models, this is the first time they have been combined in a single in-the-ear hearing aid. The result is a hearing device that offers the best of multiple worlds: performance, convenience, and modern technology.

Discreet design meets practical innovation

One of the standout features of the new Oticon release that we think you’ll love is its modular hybrid design. Unlike fully custom-made in-the-ear aids, it does not require impressions to be taken.

Instead, a selection of medical-grade silicone domes or, if needed, custom tips can be used to ensure a comfortable, secure fit. Approximately 30% of users may opt for custom tips, with the rest likely finding a perfect fit with the supplied domes.

The Oticon Zeal also features a multi-purpose retention antenna. This not only enables Bluetooth streaming but acts as an extraction cord and retention arm, gradually moulding to the ear’s shape over time from the first day of use. This clever design ensures both functionality and comfort, making it easy to wear throughout the day.

A rechargeable hearing aid for on-the-go convenience

This Oticon in-the-ear hearing aid is fully rechargeable, offering up to a full day of use on a single charge, with a quick recharge time of just a few hours. The charger itself contains a built-in lithium-ion battery, enabling users to recharge on the go – perfect for weekends away or busy schedules where mains power may not be available. We believe this feature adds a new level of convenience that will appeal to modern users.

Bringing new life to advanced sound and Bluetooth connectivity

As expected with Oticon, sound quality remains a priority. The device uses Oticon’s advanced platform, including artificial intelligence and motion sensors, to improve speech understanding in challenging listening environments. Background noise is managed automatically, and the device can adapt in real time to different surroundings.

Bluetooth connectivity allows users to stream audio directly to their hearing aids, including phone calls, music, radio, and podcasts. Adjustments can be made easily via the Oticon Companion app, letting users fine-tune volume, bass, treble, and listening programmes – all from their smartphone.

Who would benefit from the Oticon Zeal hearing aid?

Harley Street Hearing recognises several groups who may find this new device particularly appealing:

  • Current in-the-ear hearing aid users seeking Bluetooth connectivity and rechargeable convenience.
  • Those who value discreet, modern designs without sacrificing performance.
  • Receiver-in-canal hearing aid wearers interested in a bridge between classic and in-the-ear styles.
  • New users who enjoy the feel of earbuds but need professional hearing correction.

Suitability will always be determined on a case-by-case basis through a thorough hearing assessment.

We always encourage our patients to research, compare, and consult before deciding on a hearing aid. While the new Oticon hearing aid is highly promising, we want to stress that every patient’s hearing needs, ear anatomy, and lifestyle should guide the final choice.
