Romy Cohen

Romy is one of our Clinical Lead Audiologists, with 10 years of experience in both private and multidisciplinary clinical settings. She holds a BSc and MSc in Audiology, both awarded with distinction from the University of Cape Town (UCT). Romy is also registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a full member of the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (BSHAA).

Expertise

Romy’s clinical expertise focuses on adult diagnostic audiology, including comprehensive hearing aid assessments and hearing aid fittings, and has a special interest in the assessment and management of tinnitus and hyperacusis.

She also has a particular interest in hearing aid technology, tailoring hearing aids to ensure patients benefit from the latest advancements in the field.

Originally from South Africa, Romy is fluent in Afrikaans and can conduct consultations in the language.

Research and Publications

Her undergraduate research was published at UCT and focused on empathy amongst Health Professions students in the South African context.

Why Audiology?

Romy chose a career in audiology out of a desire to make a tangible, positive difference in people’s lives through communication and connection. She is passionate about improving lives through better hearing.
