Best Hearing Aids 2026

We’ll start by comparing them all physically and then throughout this blog, we will compare all of their individual features to help you make an informed decision.

Phonak Audéo EON Sphere

Starting off strong with the Phonak Audéo EON range.

Phonak Audéo EON is the latest generation of Phonak hearing technology, designed to make everyday conversations easier to follow, particularly when there is background noise.

The new range includes the third generation of Audéo Sphere, Audéo EON R and Audéo CROS EON. The focus is on making Phonak’s advanced speech-in-noise technology smaller and more efficient, while also improving automatic adaptation, wind noise management and connectivity.

Design

One of the most noticeable changes with Audéo EON is its size.

The new hearing aid uses Phonak’s more efficient Hypersonic processor, allowing the battery and overall device to be made smaller. The result is a hearing aid that is 25% smaller and 20% lighter than its predecessor.

This could be particularly important if you like the idea of Phonak’s speech-in-noise technology but were previously put off by the size of the Sphere hearing aids. A smaller design may also be easier to wear alongside glasses, hats or helmets.

The rechargeable hearing aid provides up to 38 hours of battery life when fully charged, according to Harley Street Hearing’s current product information.

Audéo EON is available in eight colours, allowing users to choose an option to suit their hair, skin tone or personal preference.

New features

Phonak Audéo EON introduces several key technology updates, including:

  • Spheric Speech Clarity™ 3.0
  • Phonak’s latest generation of speech-processing technology is designed to separate speech from surrounding noise, making conversations easier to follow in challenging environments.
  • Phonak reports 50% better speech understanding, up to 37% less listening effort and twice the likelihood of understanding speech coming from different directions.
  • Advanced AI processing
  • Dedicated AI processing helps distinguish speech from background noise, particularly in complex listening environments.
  • AutoSense OS AI 8.0
  • Automatically recognises different listening environments and adjusts the hearing aids accordingly.
  • It can recognise situations including speech in quiet, speech in noise, speech in loud noise, speech in a car, comfort in noise and music.
  • WindBlock 2.0
  • Designed to reduce distracting wind noise while preserving speech and environmental sounds.
  • The hearing aids can detect the direction of the wind and place greater emphasis on microphones that are less affected.
  • Bluetooth® connectivity
  • Allows the hearing aids to connect to compatible devices including smartphones, laptops, TVs and computers.
  • Up to eight Bluetooth devices can be paired, with two connected simultaneously.
  • Auracast™
  • Supports the newer Bluetooth technology that could allow compatible hearing aids to connect directly to audio broadcasts in public spaces.
  • Rechargeable design
  • Provides convenient all-day use without the need for disposable batteries.
  • Roger compatibility
  • Audéo EON Sphere can be used with Roger accessories for additional support in particularly challenging listening environments.

The Audéo EON range also includes the Audéo EON R, which provides advanced AI-powered automatic adaptation and speech enhancement, and CROS EON, designed for people with single-sided hearing loss.

The Phonak Audéo EON Sphere could be particularly suited to people who regularly struggle to follow conversations in busy restaurants, groups or other noisy environments, particularly if the size of previous Sphere hearing aids was a concern.

Oticon Reveal

Oticon has introduced its latest receiver-in-canal hearing aid, Oticon Reveal, building on the technology of the popular Oticon Intent.

Its key development is a new approach to artificial intelligence designed not only to make speech clearer, but also to preserve the environmental sounds that help your brain understand what is happening around you.

Design

The Oticon Reveal miniRITE R has the same external design as the Oticon Intent, meaning that despite the additional technology, it has not become larger.

The rechargeable battery provides up to around 22 hours of use from a full charge, while the optional SmartCharger provides additional portable charging.

Reveal is available in eight colours, giving users a choice of finishes to suit their personal preference.

New features

Oticon Reveal introduces several important developments, including:

  • Dual AI Technology
  • Reveal uses two AI systems working together in real time.
  • One focuses on providing access to speech, while the other preserves meaningful environmental sounds such as laughter, music, footsteps and birdsong.
  • AI Clarifier
  • The two AI processes work together to provide clearer speech while maintaining awareness of the wider soundscape.
  • Personalised speech processing
  • Speech processing can be adjusted using three settings – Front, Wide and Full – allowing your audiologist to tailor how broadly the hearing aids identify voices around you.
  • 4D Sensor Technology
  • Reveal retains Oticon’s 4D Sensor technology, using information about your acoustic environment as well as head and body movements to adapt to changing conversations and listening situations.
  • Wind & Handling Stabilizer 2.0
  • Designed to reduce distracting wind, hair and handling noise.
  • Reveal Optimizer
  • Designed to manage feedback while maintaining the amplification needed for your hearing loss.
  • Bluetooth® connectivity
  • Supports Made for iPhone, compatible Android devices, Bluetooth LE Audio and Google Fast Pair.
  • Telecoil
  • Provides compatibility with hearing loops in public venues.
  • Auracast™

Signia Pure Charge&Go AI MaX

Signia has introduced the new Pure Charge&Go AI MaX, a receiver-in-canal hearing aid built around a new AI-powered platform called Acoustic Intelligence.

The technology uses four deep neural networks to analyse speech, the wearer’s own voice, the wider listening environment and different types of background noise.

Design

The Pure Charge&Go AI MaX is a rechargeable receiver-in-canal hearing aid designed around Signia’s latest approach to artificial intelligence.

Rather than simply reducing as much background noise as possible, the technology is designed to recognise changing listening priorities and determine what the wearer needs to hear at a particular moment.

This could be useful in situations where the sounds you want to hear change throughout the day – for example, when moving from enjoying the ambience of a restaurant to focusing on a conversation with friends.

Acoustic Intelligence

At the heart of Pure Charge&Go AI MaX is Acoustic Intelligence.

Signia describes the system as a decision-making process that continuously analyses the sounds around you.

The system considers factors such as who is speaking, whether they are close or further away, whether multiple people are talking and which background sounds are useful, unwanted or potentially important for safety.

New features

The Signia Pure Charge&Go AI MaX introduces several key technology developments:

  • Four Deep Neural Networks
  • Four AI systems work together to analyse different aspects of the listening environment.
  • One focuses on speech, another on the wearer’s own voice, a third on the wider acoustic environment and the fourth on different types of background noise.
  • 40 million sound samples
  • Signia says the AI has been trained using 40 million sound samples across 11 languages, six music genres, thousands of voices and different listening environments.
  • 800 million possible optimisations
  • The system can select from 800 million possible optimisations every second to adapt the hearing aids to changing listening conditions.
  • RealTime Conversation Enhancement AI
  • Designed to track and enhance multiple conversation partners simultaneously rather than relying solely on where you are looking.
  • Own Voice Processing AI
  • Designed to make your own voice sound more natural and reduce the boomy or echoey sensation some people experience when first wearing hearing aids.
  • With MaX, Signia says the feature is automatic and active by default.
  • Bluetooth® connectivity
  • Pure Charge&Go AI MaX includes Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth LE Audio.
  • Telecoil
  • Provides compatibility with hearing loops in public venues.
  • Auracast™ readiness
  • The hearing aids are designed to support Auracast in the future.
  • Signia expects the feature to be activated around March 2027.

The Signia Pure Charge&Go AI MaX could be particularly worth considering if you struggle with conversations in restaurants or groups, want hearing aids that automatically adapt to different environments or find your own voice sounds unnatural when wearing hearing aids.

Many of the performance claims currently available come directly from Signia, so independent testing and real-world patient feedback will be important in determining how much difference the technology makes in everyday life.

ReSound Sensia

ReSound has launched Sensia, a new range of AI-powered hearing aids designed to tackle a common problem in noisy environments: what happens when your hearing aids focus on the wrong voice?

Rather than simply reducing background noise, ReSound says Sensia is designed to identify which sounds are most important and automatically adjust its processing to help you stay focused on the person you want to hear.

Design

ReSound Sensia is available across several styles, including rechargeable and disposable-battery options, RIE, CIC, ITC and custom hearing aids.

ReSound says its new DNN processing is significantly more power-efficient, allowing rechargeable models to maintain advanced noise reduction while delivering up to 24 hours of battery life.

New features

ReSound Sensia combines several technologies that work together automatically:

  • Acoustic Environment Analysis
  • Assesses the sounds around you and determines the listening environment.
  • Intelligent Directionality
  • Adjusts microphone processing to help prioritise relevant speech.
  • Intelligent Focus
  • Combines beamforming and DNN-based noise reduction to provide stronger support in complex listening environments.
  • AI-powered speech processing
  • The aim is to make the hearing aids respond not just to what is loudest, but to what is most useful to listen to.

For example, imagine sitting in a busy restaurant with a friend directly in front of you. If a louder conversation starts nearby, Sensia is designed to help maintain focus on the person you’re facing rather than automatically switching attention to the louder voice.

ReSound reports encouraging early research results. However, the company supplied the research and figures, competitor products were anonymised and some studies were laboratory-based rather than conducted in everyday listening environments.

Independent testing and longer-term patient experience will therefore be important in determining how Sensia performs in real-world situations.

The ReSound Sensia could be particularly interesting if you find competing speech difficult in busy environments, often sit opposite the person you’re trying to hear, want advanced noise management to adjust automatically or find that your current hearing aids sometimes focus on the wrong speaker.
