Bone Conduction Hearing Aids
Bone conduction hearing aids without surgery
Bone conduction hearing aids work by bypassing the outer and middle ear, and directly stimulating the inner ear through bone conduction. Instead of using air conduction to transmit sound waves, these devices utilise vibrations that are transmitted through the bones of the skull to the cochlea, which is the hearing organ in the inner ear.
This is different to how traditional hearing aids work, which pick up sound, process and amplify it, and then deliver an acoustic signal into the ear canal, which is then conducted through the middle ear to the inner ear.
Who are bone conduction hearing aids suitable for?
At Harley Street Hearing we offer two modern, non-surgical bone conduction solutions, designed for individuals with either a mixed or conductive hearing loss. They can also be used to manage single-sided deafness.

Baha 6 Max Bone Conduction hearing aid
The Baha 6 Max is a compact and lightweight device, suitable for both conductive and mixed hearing losses. It is worn with the SoundArc headband, which keeps the device in place and ensures optimal bone conduction transmission.
This premium-power device provides access to a broad and dynamic range of sounds to improve your ability to hear clearly, even in noisy environments. Using SmartSound® iQ technology, the sound processor will make automatic adjustments to the sound to optimise your hearing experience.
With enhanced durability, the Baha 6 Max now features Cochlear’s highest dust and water protection*.
Stream audio directly to your Baha 6 Max from your Apple or Android smart phone, or other compatible devices such as tablets. The device is compatible with the Cochlear Baha Smart App, which enables you to switch seamlessly between various settings and adjust the volume.
SoundArc Headband
Both the Baha 6 Max sound processor and SoundArc headband are available in a selection of colours to suit your preference.
ADHEAR Bone Conduction Hearing Aid
ADHEAR is a discreet device worn behind the ear and is ideal for conductive hearing losses. It adheres to the skin using a small waterproof adhesive, meaning it does not put any pressure on the skin.
ADHEAR makes use of the latest generation of bone conduction technology, and is equipped with features such as directional microphones and noise reduction to help you hear clearly, even in noise.
Connect your ADHEAR straight to your smartphone or tablet for streaming with the Audio Input Cable.
Both the audio processor and the adhesive adapter are available in neutral shades, allowing ADHEAR to blend in naturally with your hair and skin tones.
Suitable for both children and adults, ADHEAR is an instant and effective hearing solution for conductive hearing loss.
Contact us to book a hearing consultation with one of our clinical audiologists, to determine the most appropriate solution for your specific hearing needs.
* The Cochlear Baha 6 Max Sound Processor, with battery compartment excluded, is dust and water resistant to level IP68 of the International Standard IEC60529. Tested by the RISE Research Institutes of Sweden.
