Hearing Health Seminar

Musicians’ Hearing Health Seminar

Harley Street Hearing and Musicians’ Hearing Services have been providing advice and recommendations to the entertainment industry for over 25 years. We have experience in the preservation of hearing across all aspects of the music industry, so are well equipped to talk to your company, group, or cast members about the risks involved with exposure to loud levels of sound and how best to protect hearing.

We are passionate about the specific hearing needs of musicians and entertainment industry personnel. Our highly qualified team of audiologists regularly provide advice and support to band members in West End theatre productions, the Royal Opera House, the Musicians’ Union, and musicians nationwide, as well as working closely with the British Association of Performing Arts Medicine.

What to expect at a Hearing Health Seminar

The following topics can be included in the interactive seminar to provide a full overview of all things hearing health:

  • How the auditory system works and where the damage occurs.
  • The Control of Noise at Work Regulations (2005) and how this relates to the industry.
  • Risks associated with noise exposure.
  • The difference between perception of sound and measured sound pressure levels.
  • The importance of hearing surveillance and using hearing protection.
  • Best practice guidelines for hearing conservation.

For any regular or refresher sessions, we can tailor the topics to suit your specific audience requirements.

To make the most of the session, we can also provide on-site hearing tests and take impressions for custom-made hearing protection, dependent on numbers involved. Testing would need to be carried out in a quiet area.
