Auditory Processing Disorder Consultation
You will be seen by a clinical audiologist who specialises in auditory processing disorders (APD). During your appointment, your clinical audiologist will conduct various observations and tests, which are outlined below:
- Initial consultation: your clinical audiologist will begin by discussing your experiences and any symptoms you have been facing and will go over any prior assessments or tests you have completed to understand your history better.
- Planning: Your clinical audiologist will lay out a plan to gather further information. This plan may include various tests to accurately diagnose APD and to ensure we cover all necessary areas before recommending a management plan.
- Testing: Your clinical audiologist will begin the testing process during this appointment and the assessment will include several tests designed to evaluate different aspects of auditory processing.
Given that the testing can be tiring, breaks will be provided to ensure you remain comfortable and focused.
If necessary, a second appointment may be scheduled to complete additional tests, ensuring that fatigue does not affect the accuracy of the results.
Analysis and recommendations: after completing the necessary tests, your clinical audiologist will compile and analyse the results and will discuss the findings with you in detail.
Based on the results, we will recommend a tailored management plan to address your specific needs.
Post-assessment support: If you have any further questions or concerns after the appointment, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Depending on the management plan, follow-up appointments may be arranged to monitor progress and make any necessary adjustments
